Artistic Practice:

Fabian Warnsing

Much like Jonas Mayer, Fabian sources much of his imagery from childhood, from influences such as films and video games.

Warnsing's distinct style, having been described as faux-naive, allows the viewer to, in Warnsing's words, make "free associations."

Importantly, Warnsing is always keen to open himself up to influence; he has noted that when working, he tries to open himself up completely to the world around him.

This in turn can raise questions about seeing, as the transfer from evironment to canvas can highlight the mutations the world takes when captured by our own perception.
